Energetic Disassembly (1985)

Undoubtedly the biggest praise of Energetic Disassembly was its contribution to the Metal genre as a whole in bringing the disciplined technical acumen and progressive song-writing styles of more advanced genres (in terms of evolution) such as Jazz and other similarly well-established modern musics (ie. progressive rock). Watchtower codified this process in terms of Metal, applying it to create music that explored landscapes filled with paranoia, chaos, and the downfalls of modern political insanity. Riff-sets are deconstructed, and re-cycled, as if in a state of "meltdown"; from the nuclear fallout new life (melody) emerges.
