Dismember - Like an Everflowing Stream

Like An Everflowing Stream is best summed up as the beautification of horror (the absurd) through the dream-state (much in the same vein as surrealism). It stands out through its use of power chords (harmony) to provide a bridge between melodies ("from dream to dream..."). This is the main reason that some of the songs take on that "epic" feel amongst the carnage of the Autopsy / hardcore derived assault. This is the stand-out album in the pure Swedish death metal style; the thunderous passages of pure rhythmic energy, with furiously picked tremolo recursions, and fast chord alterations, designed in sequences that continuously sound like they are ripping themselves apart; fast melodic breaks act as forces of renewal and the cycle of life and death repeats, as man goes from ashes to ashes, dust to dust...
