Infernal Overkill (1985)

Infernal Overkill is unlike other speed metal albums in that it makes use of what could be best described as an ambient resonance that is created through gentle melodic shifts, careful repetition and chord selection and a steady, pulsing drumbeat. These songs are razor blades, slicing through the morality filters of modern society to create music that explores the abyss and revels in its dark magics. The residue of an arcane power seethes from this music, soothing the soul through its dream like passages, but powerful in the fact that it is unrepentant in its idealism.
